Bulletin 82             Day 3                 December 13, 2012

The menu for today: Maidrite on Bun, Sweet Potato Fries, Broccoli, Sherbet, Milk

7th grade weight training starts on December 17th.

The Spanish Club will be sponsoring a Jr.High Dance this Friday night, December 14th after the varsity basketball games until 11:00.  It will be at the Dike City hall and cost is $3.00 per person.

On Dec. 21 in the Junior High, movies will be shown in five classrooms to students whose work is complete.  Student Council has selected the following six films.  There will be sign up lists in the JH hallway.  The films include:  Elf, A Christmas Story,The Secret Life of Timothy Green, Home Alone 2 (Lost in New York), Deck the Halls and Finding Nemo. The five films with the highest sign-up rate will be shown.

It is your responsibility to get your work done.  Please get all your assignments completed so you are not on the Zap list or ineligibility list on Friday.  Let’s show we are responsible and take pride in yourself. You would also have a great week to watch movies on Friday.  YOU CAN DO IT

7th grade weight training starts on December 17th.


Congratulations to the 23 students in grades 5, 6, 7 and 8 who have qualified for the 2013 Geography Bee. Their contestant’s names will be read by grade level in alphabetical order. Your parents will be notified by mail about the Dec. 21 Dike New Hartford Geography Bee.
But first, as in most years, there is a tie for two of the 25 slots.  The following six students who have tied for two seats will answer a series of written questions. The students involved in the tie-breaker include: Jake Adelmund, Connor Blough, Jill Eilderts, Isaac Jorgensen, Chloe Schipper and Andrew Sloth. Your teachers will provide more information this week.
The 23 confirmed contestants include two fifth graders, Peyton Gingery and Brayden Wolf, sixth grader Tommy Miller; Seventh graders include these seven students: Cynthia Fisher, Collin Heath, Sarah Hoehns, Michael Huntley, Jacob Junker, Baylee Petersen and Rebekah Wardell. The thirteen eighth graders include: Broden Coulter, Tavin Despenas, Izzy Dietrick, Trevor Dumler, Hanna Euchner, Mackinley Hagen, Drew Hassenbroek, Dakota Hoeppner, Lizzy Huntly, Ben Latusek, Mallory Laube, Tanner Smith, and Royce Weber.  Again, congratulations to these students.

Band & vocal students reminder that you have a concert tonight.  You need a pair of khaki pants.  The school will provide you a blue polo shirt.  

The concert will begin at approximately 7:30 Monday night in the auditorium in Dike.  Vocal students meet in the new gym at 7:15.  All vocal students and parents/guardians should have received an e-mail yesterday from Mrs. Loger with details.  

The junior high musical is “Music Man” by Meridith Willson.  Auditions will be before school on Tuesday, Dec. 11.  Scripts will be handed out before Christmas break. Students interested in trying out for the musical should report to the gym during DEAR time on Friday.  You will get the audition information.

This week we need to work on respect.  Think about how you feel when you show respect to others.  

Band & vocal students reminder that you have a concert on Monday, Dec. 10.  You need a pair of khaki pants.  The school will provide you a blue polo shirt.  

All vocal students will meet today in the gym.   No vocal lessons today.  
Extra Effort choir will practice today after school until 3:20 in the music room.  

Monday morning there will be concert practice in the auditorium in Dike at the beginning of the day.  Band & vocal students who live in Dike should report to the auditorium by 8:20.  New Hartford students will ride a bus to Dike.  Students not in band or vocal should report to New Hartford as usual.  The rehearsal will last until 10:15 - bring homework or a book to read when you are not on stage.

Girls vocal today.   Eighth grade boys will have lessons.  Row 1 + Gunner & Nathan @ 1:05, row 2 @ 1:20, row 3 @ 1:35.

Extra effort choir today 2:50-3:05.  Don’t be late!  We’ll be done in time for you to the ride the bus home.

Athletic pictures will be today after school.  Forms will be available at the pictures.

Band & vocal students reminder that you have a concert on Monday, Dec. 10.  You need a pair of khaki pants.  The school will provide you a blue polo shirt.  

Vocal students - vocal today and Friday will be for girls.

7th grade boys have vocal lessons today.  Row 1 @ 1:05, row 2 @ 1:20, row 3 @ 1:35 and baritones @ 2:50.  You will sing and try on polo shirts during your lesson.  

The musical WILL NOT be “Alice in Wonderland”.  But here is a clue to what the show is - high school teacher Mr. Bennett played the lead role in this show when he was in high school at D-NH.  Auditions will be the week of Dec. 10.  Scripts will be passed out before Christmas break so you can begin memorizing lines.
