Monday, October 22, 7th and 8th grade choir students need to eat lunch at 11:47. All 6th graders will need to eat lunch at 12:12. Remaining 7th and 8th graders will eat lunch at 12:37.

Next week is Red Ribbon Week. Here are the dress up days for each day:

Tuesday, Oct. 23rd:  Put a cap on drugs (Hat Day)

Wednesday, Oct. 24th:  Sock it to drugs! (Wacky Socks Day)

All 5th - 8th grade girls interested in going out for AAU volleyball this winter should stop in and try on the new jerseys to get correct sizing.  The jerseys are located in Mrs. Neuroth's room

 

The Middle School Council presents....SOCKTOBER!  Please donate a new pair of socks, men, women's or children's and receive a blue ticket from Mrs. Becker from October 17 to the 31! Boxes will be available by room 411. All of the socks will be donated to local shelters and churches for those in need.  Additionally, there will be jars for you to vote for your "favorite" teacher to wear the most outrageous Halloween socks imaginable visible to everyone all day on October 31! Donations can be dropped in the jars outside Mrs. Becker's room starting October 17, voting will end on October 30.  All proceeds from the vote will go to fund future projects for the patio by the gym

    

 

Wrestling starts November 5th; please sign up on Mr. Eastman's door. If there are any questions or thoughts about wrestling, please see Mr. Eastman.

 

The DNH Trapshooting Team will be holding a demonstration day this Sunday, Oct. 21, at 2 p.m. at the Cedar Falls Gun Club. Any students in 6th-12th grade interested in trapshooting are invited to come out to watch a trapshooting demonstration and try it out by shooting a round under the supervision of the DNH Trapshooting coaching staff.

 

 

We are going to be providing weight lifting in the mornings over the next 2 weeks for the 7th and 8th graders. Lifting mornings will be at 6:30  Monday and Wednesday starting October 22nd. The shuttle from Dike will leave at 6:15.

 

Winter sign ups will start this week.

If you are a first time athlete please have your parents check the date on your physicals.

Samuel Heerts was recently selected for participation in the thirty-second annual Opus Honor Choir Festival. Close to 3,000 students were nominated by their directors for 720 positions in the four Opus Honor Choirs.  Congrats Sam!

We would like to take this opportunity thank the student council members: Ali Steffen, Sam Anema, Maddie Norton, Shae Mills, Summer Bertram, Alayna Amling, Maryn Bixby, Elyse Folkerts, Natalie Folkerts, Hanna Steffen, Reedlyn Kannegieter, and Kiersten Christiansen for all of their hard work last week organizing the homecoming activities.  Great job, ladies!
