JH DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS

TODAY IS A DAY 5

TODAY’S MENU: Quesadilla or  Cheesy Breadstick, Corn, Ice Cream, Pineapple, Salad Bar and milk.

Wolverine Bowl:  Boiled Egg, String Cheese, Crackers, Elf Grahams

BAND & VOCAL

Day 5 band lessons today.  6th graders please check GoogleClassroom because there are a few changes to the schedule today.

We are done with 6th hour vocal lessons for the school year.   Makeup lessons for those who need to bring their grade up are available after school 5/24, 5/29, and 5/31.

8th Graders please email or show Mr. Connolly your Baby picture by Monday. Still need the following people. Jade, Nathaniel

CODING CLUB

Coding club for 6th - 8th grader are Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 7:15-8:15 am in the Library/Media Center.

8TH GRADE PROMOTION:

8th Grade Promotion Ceremony is Thursday, May 24th at 7:00 pm at the Dike Aud.

All 8th grade students are invited to a post promotion celebration at Slice in Dike. The cost will be $9.00 per student and will include pizza, drink with free refills, tax, and tip. Money can be dropped off with Megan in the office by the end of the day on Monday May 21st.

ATHLETICS:

JH softball and baseball practices  - Shuttle leaves 3:10 (for everyone)

HS VOLLEYBALL

There will be a meeting for all 8th grade girls interested in going out for Volleyball on Wednesday at 1:30 PM in the high school library. Kyle Clark from BSN will be there with shoes for you to try on if you need new shoes. Please email Coach Harms if you are unable to attend.

JH Football

signups for next season on Mr. Pokorny’s door. There will be a meeting Tuesday for all incoming 7th and 8th grade football players in Mr. Pokorny’s room during Wolverine time.

CROSS COUNTRY

Any to be 7th, 8th, and 9th graders interested in XC there is a sign-up  sheet by Mr. Reingardt’s office. Please contact Mr. Reingardt if any questions.

LOST AND FOUND

JH GIRLS TRACK

Girls track will be having an end of season celebration on Tuesday May 22 at 6:30 a.m. in Mrs. Petersen’s room. Breakfast will be provided. Please plan to ride the morning shuttle from Dike if needed.

WEIGHTS - JH

Tuesday and Thursday mornings @ 6:30 am – 7:30 am

 

Trapshooting

State Trapshooting competition will be held June 6th. This is the last day of school so if you plan to attend you must be signed up in advance with Coach Purdy and have a note from a parent excusing you from school. Check with Coach Purdy if you have questions.

TODAY IS DAY 1

MENU: Tacos or Chicken Fajitas, Refried Beans, Corn, Cinnamon Apples, Salad Bar and Milk.

WB: Turkey & Cheese Wrap, Scooby Grahams

 

BAND & VOCAL

Jazz Band - Thur only this week in Dike... shuttle leaves at 6:30. 

Show Choir - Wed 5/16 and Fri 5/18 in Dike... shuttle leaves NH at 6:30.

Combined vocal on Fri, 5/18.

 

Band and Vocal Concert on 5/22 at 7:00 pm at the Dike Aud. Please be there at 6:30. You will need to wear khaki pants and blue polos. The concert will feature the 7-8 Grade Band, Jazz Band, Show Choir and 7-8 Grade Choir.

 

CODING CLUB

6-8th Graders on Tuesday and Thursday mornings - 7:15 - 8:15 am in the Library.

 

ATHLETICS:

BASEBALL/SOFTBALL

JH Softball and Baseball Practices will begin Monday, May 14 for 7th grade, and Thursday, May 17 for 8th Grade (after Lanesboro). Practices will be in Dike; there is a shuttle back to NH after practice.

State Trapshooting competition is Wed., June 6th. Good luck to our students participating in this event! If your student will not be in school on the 6th due to trapshooting, please let the school know in advance so students can check out prior to that day.

8th Grade Girls

Softball skills assessment - Any 8th grade girl who would like to may come to the HS Softball field after school today for a skills assessment for HS Softball. Coach Oelmann will conduct the assessment from 1:30 - 2:45. You may take the shuttle down, but there will not be transportation afterward.

Mr. Norton will be here on Thursday at noon to talk with girls going out for JH Softball.

Baseball  

Please pick schedule up from Coach Brace.

Practices

JH softball and baseball practices will begin Monday, May 14 for 7th grade, and Thursday, May 17 for 8th grade (after Lanesboro).

BAND & VOCAL

Jazz band practices will be Thursday 5/3 this week and Monday, Wednesday, Friday next week..

Practices will begin in New Hartford at 7:00am and the shuttle will leave the circle drive in Dike at 6:30am.

Show Choir  Friday 5/4. Next week, Tuesday 5/8 and Thursday 5/10.  Practices start at 7:00 a.m. in the JH music room. Shuttle leaves from Dike at 6:30 a.m.

No Vocal Lessons today 5/2.  

MAP TESTING

Begins today in math. Next week we will MAP test in LA and Science

MAY BASEBALL CAMP

Registrations are due today May 2. You may bring them to the office. Camp is May 12 in the morning.

SUMMER DRIVER’S ED

Sign up for Summer driver education can be done on-line with the link sent to your email.  Deadline for registration is tomorrow, May 1st and class will begin on May 4th.

CODING CLUB

We are starting a coding club for 6th - 8th grade students. Anyone interested is welcome to join. Mrs. Seymour will lead activities Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 7:15-8:15 am in the Library/Media Center. Our first meeting is this Thursday, April 26th. We will meet every week throughout May.

END OF YEAR CLASS TRIPS

In order for students to attend these trips they must meet the following eligibility requirements:

1) Students must be in good academic standing on the Friday before the scheduled trip (3 D's or 1 F will prohibit a student from attending).

2) If a student commits a major behavior violation which results in a suspension, they will not be allowed to attend the class trip.

CITY CLEAN-UP DAY - FRIDAY, APRIL 27

JH Students will be cleaning up around New Hartford from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. You will be with your Class Meeting Groups. Go to those rooms at 1:00.
