Any juniors or seniors interested in taking a nurse aide course (CNA) for 3rd trimester please see Mrs. Ames ASAP.

JUNIORS AND THE PSAT/NMSQT TESTS (Wednesday, October 17th 8:25-11:30)

           Deadline for turning in your $14.00  is October 12th. The following students still need to turn in their money: Mackenna Nielsen, Amber LeBahn, Byron Fritch, Ethan Stancliffe, and Kristi Koch.

 

Play practices for this week are posted on the music hall door.  Check it out!!!    

 

All Wolverine Pals that are planning on mentoring in the Dike El. please find a study hall time to get in contact with Mr. Textor sometime this week.  He will get you set up with your students.

 

The Prom Committee will met tomorrow morning at 7:45 in the music room.  

 

The Sr. Class officers will meet Wednesday morning at the beginning of 2nd hour in Senora’s room.

 

There will be an informational meeting for anyone wishing to participate in the SAVE program that will be introduced Thursday morning at 10:30.  The past 4 years we have had students from BCLUW providing us with skits on Bullying, assault,  and abuse thru the SAVE program.  SAVE has invited Dike-New Hartford students to participate in the student lead skits.  If you have interest in participating or have questions, please plan to attend the meeting 10:30 in the auditorium.  For additional information, please contact Mr. Cuvelier, Mrs. Granberg, Mrs. Paar, or Mrs Ames.

 

October 16th is picture re-take day. If you did not get your picture taken at orientation please sign up in the office to have it taken on the 16th. You will be called from class.

On Wednesday, Oct. 3 @ 11:55  all students will be released to  participate in the 2nd Annual Healthiest Walk Day.  High School students will report to the baseball parking area on the north side of the football field.  At that time a public address announcement will be read and after the announcement they will all participate in a 1km walk around the perimeter of the school grounds.   This should take no more then 15-20 minutes.  Elementary students and community members will be on the track at that time and will be walking 1 km(about 3 laps) on the track.   Schedule for Wednesday will be as follows:

Period 1  8:25-9:05

Period 2  9:09-9:49

Period 3  9:53-10:33

Period 5  10:37-11:17

Period 4   11:21-11:55  (All high school students)

                 11:55      Dismiss all students to the baseball parking area.

                 12:00     Public address and walk begins

                 12:15     All students finish walk and report to lunch

Period 6   12:45-1:10

           Today is the last day to sign up for the PSAT. The fee is $14.00 per student payable to DNHHS. Students should stop in the guidance office ASAP and see Mrs.Ames about signing up and picking up pre-test materials. Deadline for turning in your money is October 12th.  

 

There will be play practice Monday, Tuesday and Thursday night.  Detailed schedule will for tonight will be posted on the music hall door.  

 

There will be a meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 25 @ 10:15 in the auditorium for all junior/senior students that have interest in being a Wolverine Pal.  Criteria and expectations will be explained.  

 

Volleyball bus will leave today at 3:30 and the match starts at 5:00.

There will be open gym on Tuesday mornings from 6:45-7:45 in the main gym.  This is open to all students, but there will be NO active playing-only shooting! Basketball will be provided.

 

Any high school student male or female interested in trap shooting please sign up in the high school office.

JUNIORS AND THE PSAT/NMSQT TESTS 

           On Wednesday, October 17th all juniors have the opportunity to take the PSAT/NMSQT test.  This will be done onsite starting at 8:25-11:30. This is generally intended for students who are in the top 15% in their class. This test assesses your critical reading, mathematical reasoning, and writing skills, and is an excellent warm-up for the ACT.  In addition, it allows the student to participate in the Student Search Service by having their names sent to colleges and government sponsored scholarship programs that are looking for students like them. It qualifies the student for scholarship recognition that use the PSAT/NMSQT results.  The fee is $14.00 per student payable to DNHHS. Students should stop in the guidance office ASAP and see Mrs.Ames about signing up and picking up pre-test materials.  September 21st is the last day to sign up for the PSAT with Mrs. Ames.  Deadline for turning in your money is October 12th.
