Daily Announcements for November 6, 2019.   Day 5


Lunch today: Chili or wolverine burger, green beans, cinnamon roll and salad bar.


ASVAB
On Wednesday, November 6th the ASVAB Career Exploration test will be administered at 8:20. This is a completely VOLUNTARY TEST. The ASVAB test has been designed to help all students, whether they are planning on immediate employment after high school in civilian or military occupations, or further education at a university, community college, or vocational institution.  This program is designed to help students learn more about themselves and the world of work, identify and explore potentially satisfying occupations, and develop an effective strategy to realize their goals. The ASVAB test allows students to see their skill areas and how those areas correspond to specific occupations.  This test will take approximately 3 hours to administer and is free to students. Any sophomore, junior, or senior interested in going in the military or would like to explore different career areas should stop in the counselor’s office to sign up as soon as possible. 


2019-2020 yearbooks can be purchased for $35 until November 8th through jostens.com or you can pick up an order form in the office. Please see Mrs. Stephens if you have any questions 


Paper Roller Coaster Meeting: Thursday at 8:20 am in Mrs. Nicholson’s room.  It will be BRIEF but please plan to attend.


Mark your calendars for Open Mic Night! Student Council will be hosting this year’s first Open Mic Night on November 11 at 7:00pm in the auditorium. Students can perform poetry, prose, music, comedy, etc. for the audience. Check your Infinite Campus for information on how to sign up to perform!


There will be a short meeting for anyone interested in going out for wrestling, boys and girls and being a wrestling manager today at 1:25 in the wrestling room.  


There will be a FCCLA meeting tomorrow at 8:00 in Mrs. Box's classroom.


There will be a speech meeting today at 1:15 in the library.

Lunch today: Cheeseburger or Taco Quesadilla, French Fries and Salad bar.

We want to congratulate the fall activities for the successful season we have had and continue to have.  Cheer squad, volleyball, Taylor Kvale and Cross Country, Ashton Syharath and diving, football. Chorus and band students and the musical cast.

Congratulations to the Athlete's for their terrific weekend, football, cross country, Taylor Kvale, 12th place in CC and the cheerleading competition for 1st and 3rd place.

Congratulations to Ashton Saharath who competed in the regional diving meet last night.  Ashton took 1st place in her regional and will advance to the State Diving meet next Saturday.   Congrats to Ashton!!

Daily Announcements for October 29, 2019.   Day 6

 

Lunch today: Chicken Nachos or tenderloin, french fries,baked beans and salad bar.

 

We will have a brief junior class meeting today toward the end of 2nd hour (10:15) in the auditorium.

 

4 DNH students auditioned for the Iowa All State Chorus on Saturday Oct. 26th- Ethan Adolphs, Lainey Fager, Jacob Gibbs, and Jaylyn Gibbs.  This grueling audition preparation was 3 months in the making and we are so proud of them for following through with this process.  

A huge congratulations to Lainey Fager who was selected to sing in the 2019 Iowa All-State Chorus on alto 1.  Another congratulations to Jaylyn Gibbs who was selected as second alternate on alto 1.

Lunch today: Chicken strips or stuffed crust pizza, seasoned rice, glazed carrots and salad bar.


4 DNH students auditioned for the Iowa All State Chorus on Saturday Oct. 26th- Ethan Adolphs, Lainey Fager, Jacob Gibbs, and Jaylyn Gibbs.  This grueling audition preparation was 3 months in the making and we are so proud of them for following through with this process.
