All juniors are encouraged to take the ACT on the April test date. The rationale for testing in April is that the ACT is based on junior level curriculum and April is the latest test date during the junior school year to take the test.

The ACT Fee Waiver Program is designed to assist students for whom payment of the test fee could be a barrier to college entrance. Only a limited number of fee waivers are authorized by ACT each year, beginning in the fall. Once funds have been exhausted, requests for waivers will be denied. 


ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: You must be a high school student who meets ALL eligibility requirements:

1.) Currently enrolled in the 11th or 12th grade.


2.) Either a United States citizen or testing in the United States, US territories, or Puerto Rico.


3.) Meet ONE or more of the indicators of ECONOMIC NEED listed below:

  •  Enrolled in a federal free or reduced-price lunch program at school.
  • Enrolled in a program for the economically disadvantaged (for example, a federally funded program such as  GEAR UP or Upward Bound).
  • Resides in a foster home, is a ward of the state, or is homeless.
  • Family receives low-income public assistance or lives in federally subsidized public housing.
  • Family's total annual income is at or below the USDA levels for free or reduced-price lunches.
